Numbers!

We finally put numbers to our characters last night, and set things in motion.

A couple of things I've noticed with this current allocation:
Charlie needs to select two non-career skills, since his species is Human. This means he could pick up Ranged(Light) or Ranged(Heavy) to supplement his Gunnery. Or he can expand to other Intellect skills or something.
Matt's stats don't line up as well as they might with his skill choices. On the one hand, it would make for some good roleplaying situations that weren't max-minned. And having a high Intellect means that his unskilled checks in that area will be generally good. On the other hand, it might become frustrating later.
There's a fair amount of overlap with Discipline, Vigilance, and Perception. This isn't a bad thing. I actually think it could be good. It's new to me, and I'll work hard to provide challenges that play to those strengths.

We set a starting mission goal for the players, and did some equipment requisitioning. The group decided to go help a Chenji'i family deliver an outgoing shipment of Desifen and foodstuffs to the city to be smuggled off-planet, and thus win hearts and minds. The city-state of Chenji'i is furthest from the capitol city of Rekka, but it's unknown what sort of Empire presence will be there, now that the Star Destroyer is in orbit.

To help them get there, they were able to requisition four speeder bikes. An attempt was made to get some grenades, but this request was denied by command. The group was required to take a satchel charge, however, just in case there was a worthy Empire target. Anyone without a ranged weapon was required to check out a blaster or blaster carbine from the armory. Oslo was denied a request to check out a Heavy Repeating Blaster and tripod, and it was pointed out to him that his speeder had a heavy blaster on it that he could use should the need arise.
