March Madness

Charlie and Sean were out this week, sadly. Charlie says he'll be back next week, then off again the following one.

Matt, Greg, and I met at the pub and had a good time chatting and playing games. Greg trounced us in the first game of Condottiere. Then we had a longer game of it where Matt maneuvered his way to a solid victory. Following that, we introduced Greg to Quantum, where I won my first game ever. Good times.

We've started a bit of an e-mail discussion about starting equipment and "salary". The Rebellion is like a non-profit organization. You get room, board, equipment enough to fight the Empire, and maybe a small stipend. If you prove yourself, you're allowed to requisition more assets, and maybe get more of a stipend. Roleplaying may help you aquire more gear for use on missions as well.

Starting characters can have 1000 credits worth of equipment. They may also start with a personal starfighter, the quality of which will depend upon the proven skill of the character. A basic freighter will be provided to any remaining characters who do not wish to pilot a starfighter. I was thinking of the G9 Rigger. Stats below:

Silhouette 4
Speed 2
Handling -2
Defense : 1 fore, 1 aft
Armor 2
Hull Threshold 25
System Strain Threshold 15
Crew 2
Passengers 6 (consumables for 6 months)
Class 3 hyperdrive (no backup) with built in navicomputer
Dorsal auto-blasters, Forward arc, 3 damage, crit 5, Close range
Starboard Outrigger turreted blaster cannon (no left arc), 4 damage, crit 4, Close range
Ventral wing-mounted light blaster cannon, Forward arc, 4 damage, crit 4, Close range (this wing folds up under the craft during landing)

The main benefit of the freighter is that you can stand up, stretch out, and actually sleep lying down. The downside is that it's slow and unmaneuverable.

The main benefit of starfighters is their speed and maneuverability, and you only have to smell your own farts. The downside is that you can't get up and move around for the entire duration of your hyperspace voyage. Hope you like the colostomy bag and catheter built into the flight suit. Hope you're wearing a flight suit.
